52/52

"A portrait of our children, once a week, every week in 2013"

Week One

Week Fifty Two

Week One

Week Fifty Two

Master 16:  Well how about that ... my boy became a man.

Master 13:  The changes are more subtle … but you matured in many ways this year.

Now look at that … it didn't take long,
To find the whole darn year had gone.
The weeks went by ... they really flew,
Can you believe … Week Fifty Two.
To mark the end of taking part,
I took my boys back to the start.
Hip hip hooray … we made it through,
And look how much those two boys grew!

Joining in for the final time with Jodi.

    1. Overall they have been pretty good about the whole thing … that's not to say we haven't had a few bad weeks here and there ;0)

  2. Full circle - I like it. Are your boys letting you do it again next year?

    1. I'm afraid this was our final swan song … unless a sudden burst of unexpected enthusiasm takes hold … which is highly, extremely unlikely ;0)

    1. That's when you realise just how much they grow and change in twelve short months … probably haven't seen such a marked change in Master 16 since he was Master 1 ;0)

  4. Oh how your eldest has grown, and it keeps happening faster now. I have my lads old high school ID cards, which are hilarious to put out in a line to see how much they both changed in those fours years. Now they SHAVE!!! And there are GIRLS!! BOOZE!! And things I just don't want to know about!! But I love them just as much as when they were small, but don't tell them!! They think I was born old and had no life before them, ha ha how wrong they are!!!

    1. I'm covering my ears and singing lalalalala … not quite ready to face all that other "grown up" stuff. Though Master 16 delightedly informed me that he will be 18 NEXT year!!!!

  5. WOW! so wonderful. Your poetry again has me smiling, but these photos! I love them. It goes to show how much change can happen over the course of a year in our adolescents. SO much change! No wonder they can be so surly.

Are you going to do the 52 project again. There are times I think yes -it helps me show up and mingle with others; other times I think I need a different 52 project. xo

    1. No more for me … I'm on the look out for a project that's a little bit different … I don't think my boys would stand for another year either. Having said that I will probably keep taking their portraits … but cut it down to once a month … just to record the growth spurts.

  9. Amazing changes in just one year. Seems like we should all take these photos but maybe one at the 1st of the year and one and the last only.

    Love you poem too!

  10. Great pics - what a change in your eldest too! I have really loved discovering your blog this year through the portrait series. I love your style of writing and humour. Not sure if I will do the portrait thing again next year - too much of a commitment. Hope you have a fun filled new year xx

    1. I've loved finding yours too Lou.
I understand what you mean about the commitment … I kept it up for the full twelve months … which was around 11 months longer than I thought I might ;0)
