You know the kind … where nothing works out … where everything that could go wrong does go wrong … where everyone's in a bad mood … including yourself. A shitty day.
For starters it was housework day … and everything needed doing … because I haven't done it. And if I haven't done it … then it hasn't been done … full stop.
Sigh!
I had already cleaned the bathroom … vacuumed the entire house … and was halfway through mopping the floors … when I got this text from Master 16.
Turns out he had been pulled off the bus for wearing this shirt.
Instead of this shirt.
Apparently he needed to wear his sports shirt … because he was representing the school while off school grounds. Apparently the normal school uniform doesn't do this. So he was taken from the bus … and sent to detention for the afternoon. This might be the time to point out that his sport is swimming … where absolutely nobody will be wearing a uniform of any kind.
Sigh!
Then I received this text from Master 13.
In case you can't understand his appalling spelling and lazy texting … he slipped over in the mud. He wanted to come home. I didn't let him. He wasn't happy. You might say he was a tad emotional.
SIGH!
Then I discovered that the only thing Master 13 really wants for Christmas is not in stock … and won't be back in stock until March. He wasn't happy. You might say he got a tad more emotional.
SIGH!
Then I was in the middle of cooking dinner … when Buster ran in from outside followed closely by an eye-watering aroma. Seems Buster had managed to find a stray cat poop … for the third time this week ... and rolled his entire body in it … for the third time this week. So I had to bath him … in the middle of cooking dinner … for the third time this week.
SIGH!
How was your
EDITED: In a further sign of how bad this day is … I have just realised that I entitled this post "Hump Day" … which of course refers to Wednesday … though today is in fact Thursday … SIGH!!
Happy Day-After-Hump Day! I'm sighing along with you! xx
ReplyDeleteMy brain was so fried I honestly thought it was Wednesday … sigh

this was a shitty day indeed, I think you coped majestically, I do! you haven't thrown anything, took to the bottle or even locked yourself in the bathroom, this proves again you are a legend! poor Master 13 though, will he consider something else, it annoys me no end when they are out of stock at this time of year, Christmas= tonnes more stock, simple! x x x
ReplyDeleteYou would think wouldn't you … Christmas must be organised by a man ;0)

Is Hump Day so-called because you have lots of sex? That might make things seem better...
ReplyDeleteShittiness all over the place, but never mind, you got through with your humour and sanity intact. And I wouldn't have got Master 13 either, if that helps at all! xxx
LOL!! I think it's more about being the middle day of the week … but I'm sure it's open to interpretation ;0)
DeleteAnd yes … it does help … he had me believing I was the very worst mother ever to walk this earth.
xx
That is the shittiest day imaginable but like Curtise said, at least you retained your sense of humour! Love your response to Master 13! x
ReplyDeleteI'm considering calling off his Christmas holidays too … I wonder if there is a Summer Spelling School ;0)

Master 16 is a bit of a babe!!!
ReplyDeleteHa, I will never stop giggling inanely whenever anyone talks about Hump Day!!!
Funny, I've had one of those mornings, but nothing by comparison..!!! XXX
I'll pass your message on to Master 16 … he'll be madly flattered ;0)
DeleteHump day … fart jokes … it's all good stuff :0)
xx
Oh, the glamour of motherhood! You handled this all with incredible grace. In situations like these I often tell my children about how when I was a kid we didn't have iphones and texting and we weren't even allowed to use the phones at school unless it was an emergency so when CrummyStuff Happened we just had to DEAL With It!!! And they look at me like I'm ancient and clueless...which I guess I am... LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL … join the club … my kids think I was born in Medieval times ;0)

Aah … just a baby … I used to think the best thing about babies was their cuteness and their beautiful baby smell … now I know it's their inability to talk back ;0)
