That is inspired ...

I managed to get a little distracted ... and before I knew it Tuesday had been and gone around these parts.  But never mind ... it's still Tuesday somewhere ... like Anchorage and Baton Rouge and Cleveland ... as long as I'm quick.

This week, Jane's Shiny T Tuesday prompt is "Inspired".

Now I am inspired by many, many things.

I am inspired by art, by colour, by books, by magazines, by people, by the weather ... I could go on and on and on.

I find I am especially inspired by other people's blogs.

Last week I was overcome with inspiration when I read this one.  I love a tunic top with leggings and Connie showed us how she had made one ... using a t-shirt ... which is just too clever for words.

So a warm feeling of inspiration overtook me and I decided I simply had to make a tunic top.

This might be a very good time to point out that I have never sewn clothes before.  I have made quilts and cushions and curtains ... but I have never, ever made clothes.  But hey ... I was inspired ... and the whole point of inspiration is to do something a bit different ... right?

So I went out to "Spotlight" ... which is a mega market for all things crafty ... and I wandered around waiting for a blinding jolt of inspiration to hit.

And then it did.

I found this pattern quite inspiring.

This bit was easily the most inspiring part of all.

Then this fabric caught my eye ... it was either inspiring ... or just so big and bright that it jumped out and walloped me in the face.

The big yellow sale sign may have helped to make it look so inspirational.

So then I had to get home ... quickly ... and make my tunic top ... quickly ... before I found myself inspired by something else entirely.  Did I mention that I have a short attention span and I am very, very easily distracted.

Ooooh ... something shiny ...

Oops ... back to the inspiration at hand.

So I cut it out.

And I frowned at the instructions a lot.

And I cursed a fair bit.

My curse words were so creative ... you might say they were inspired!

And I unpicked a lot.

But eventually I sewed it up ... and it believe it or not ... it actually resembled a tunic top.

So I wore it out to lunch on Father's Day.

I may or may not have been "inspired" by the consumption of several glasses of this ...

... to pose for a little fashion shoot ... in the middle of the train station car park.  Like you do ... right?

And there you have it ... one inspirational epiphany after another ... resulted in this little tunic top.

Hubby very rudely suggested that it would be a particularly inspirational outfit for St Patricks Day ... but surely any resemblance to a leprechaun is only passing.

P.S.  I intend to sue New Look patterns for false advertising ... Easy 1 Hour ... NOT!  Indeed ... I  fully intend to sue them ... just as soon as I get the inspiration to do so ... ooohh ... something shiny ...

  2. I think it's lovely, especially with your auburn hair and alabaster skin. I wouldn't be able to sew that in a year, much less an hour!

  3. You were inspired by me??? That's bananas! But we clearly think alike. I only buy patterns that say "Easy Sew" or "Kwik Sew" or "For Ages 5 to 8". And SALE fabric. Yes Please! I love your dress and the leggings. You are cuter than cute!
