L is for LOOK OUT ...

Something happened today.

Something that is going to change my life forever.

Something that will alter the course of my previously worry free existence.

Something that is likely to keep me awake at night.

Something that was inevitable, inescapable and unavoidable.

Master 16 got his Learners Permit.

Master 16 can now drive a car.

What's more ... he expects me to teach him how!

MERCY!!!

  2. Gah! how can it be when 2 minutes ago they were crawling! on a positive note he may be a driving legend and then he can pick you up and drive you round *fingers crossed* x

    1. I know ... I'm sure they must have made a mistake he cannot POSSIBLY be old enough to drive.
But true ... maybe I can call in a few favours ... though more likely he'll just take off in my car and I'll rarely see either it nor him again ;0)

  3. Uh oh!! My dad refused to teach me to drive so I used an instructor, then the day before my test Dad offered to take me out in the car that would become mine...he made me so nervous I mounted the kerb and almost crashed into a parked car!! Still managed to pass my test though!!!

  4. Oh yes. This is a very scary time in a parent's life. He seems very sensible so I'm sure he'll do quite well. I did notice my very first grey hairs when my daughter got her learner's permit, though.

    1. You spend their whole lives doing your best to keep them safe and all of a sudden it is entirely out of your hands ... very scary!!
Luckily I've already got my first grey hairs over and done with ;0)

    1. I certainly won't miss driving him to work ... though I will miss my car ... which I'm unlikely to ever see again ;0)
I'm pretty sure hair dye was invented by someone who's child was learning to drive.

  7. Have fun with that, I remember those days. Definitely hubby's job, also we had a few professional lessons, well worth it. xxx Rae

    1. Hubby and I are planning on sharing the burden. They have to log 120 driving hours before they can go for their provisional licence ... so it's definitely going to have to be a joint effort. We will certainly be getting him a few lessons as well ... I think they are invaluable.
