Behind the bike shed ...

It's time for Shiny T Tuesday ... and this week's prompt was "Behind the Bike Sheds".

Now I must admit that "Behind the Bike Sheds" left me a little blank ... so I decided to take a little poetic licence ... literally ... and came up with this little ditty.

The Big Adventure Behind the Bike Shed

There once was a schoolgirl ... a sensible sort,
Who listened in class and did all that she aught.
She buttoned her blouse ... kept her skirt at a nice modest length,
Cause she was a good girl ... and never a skank.

It made her a target ... with those girls that are mean,
Cause she did all her homework and her language was clean.
They teased and they bullied ... to get her to fight,
But she walked the high road ... cause she knew it weren't right.

Then one sunny day ... a new boy came to school,
And all of the mean girls ... started to drool.
Their hearts all beat madly ... their faces were flush,
And every last one ... got a really mad crush.

For he was a heart throb ... a dreamboat ... an Adonis,
I'd fall in love too ... if I really am honest.
And the very good girl wasn't immune to his charms,
He had a glib way with words ... and a smile to disarm.

And when that slick charmer smiled at HER in Maths class,
Then the mean girls got nasty and said they'd "kick her sweet ass".
Well the threat that was made ... it filled her with dread.
They said, "You'll get what is coming ... behind the bike shed".

Now since cycling was a transport she often employed,
The bike sheds weren't a place she could easily avoid.
By the end of the day ... quite the crowd had assembled,
And she held her head high ... though her innards did tremble.

Then she marched to the shed ... to confront her aggressors.
She said, "This all ends here ... I will fight my oppressors".
So she eyed off the mean girls with a steely cold glance,
And then readied herself in a kung foo type stance.

If those mean girls had bothered to chat now and then,
They'd have known that she'd had a black belt since age ten.
But the confident look must have finally been read,
And the meanies all scurried away from the shed.

And as they all left ... well the good girl let fly,
With a barrage of cursing as blue as the sky.
And those mean girls ... aghast ... rushed away in their fear,
And the crowd still assembled ... all started to cheer.

So the girl got the boy ... and despite her reluctance,
Those meanies had finally ... got their comeuppance.

  2. You showed those mean girls! Good for you! Urgh! Hate those mean girls. Very nice poem. Somehow I feel that this may be autobiographical.
