There's no such thing as easy money......

Hubby made a deal with Master 12.

If he completely de-weeded the back garden by Friday afternoon he would be paid the princely sum of $50.  Now that is pretty good money for a 12 year old....and his offer was snapped up without hesitation.

This afternoon Master 12 made a start.....he picked his tools......

.....and got to work.....

.....it started off okay.......

...but this was the moment that the enormity of the task hit him.....

.....he persevered....for a moment......

....decided it made his back hurt......

......then declared it was finished....and gave up.....

......"But what about this one?" I asked......

....."Mum.....that's a shrub!"
