Ho hum ...

Do you know what I find really, really tedious?

Boasty mothers that bang on constantly about how wonderful their children are … how little Jimmy can run the fastest in his whole kindergarten class … and how Sarah was the first preschooler to tie her shoes ever … and how Bobby can pick his nose so much better than all the other kids.

BORING!!

I mean granted THEY might find these sorts of achievements interesting … but NOBODY else does … and it's just soooo self indulgent to assume that anyone else wants to hear about it … isn't it??

So I wouldn't dream of writing a post with no other purpose in mind than to egotistically brag about something my child had achieved … never … never never.

In the meantime ... I'm just going to casually mention ... accidentally … in passing … that Master 16's exam results are mostly in … and he passed the lot … came fourth in the year in Maths … came second in the year in Geography and came first in the year in Biology.  English is still to come … which just so happens to be his "best" subject.

Yep I've got nothing to tell here.

Other than I'm proud as punch.

Picture of some very proud punch

  1. Hey sometimes it is good to boast about your kids Congratulations to your lad and to you...I hope I am going to be able to do the same in August with regards to DS17s AS levels...hmmm seeing his method of studying though - watch something on DVD player, with computer on your lap and phone in hand, leaves me not very hopeful!

  5. You SHOULD be proud! That is awesome! Congrats to Master 16. I know what you mean, though. Blah blah blah, my little princess, my perfect boy, etc. My son & I have a running joke where I praise him using all sorts of gooey language for something he would never do. We both get a laugh and it gives me an opportunity to give him a big hug without him getting too embarrassed. Aw Shucks.

  6. That sounds very brag worthy to me and friends always want to know the great stuff about their friends' kids. It's only the people who aren't friends who don't. Well done Master 16, clearly you chose yourself some great parents to help make you who you are. ;-) Now, I'll have a glass of that punch, please.

  7. Oh well done Master 16!! See Jo he had it all under control, no need to worry!! You are so entitled to be proud as your punch!!! I have a friend that always goes over board on her kids achievements and she has such high expectations of them, one of those peeps that writes the very long winded letter to go in a chrissy card about how well they had both done. BORING!! Some people think parenting is a competition, but none of us know the outcome of that parenting race do we. I know you were joking, but many a true word is spoken in jest!!
