The weekend that was ...

Saturday should be a day of rest ... of sleep ins and lazy starts.

Hubby had other ideas this weekend.

He had about 20 million of these ...

to be delivered to every local letter box ... and decided we were going to help him do it ... early.

Here he is giving us an inspirational speech on how to achieve his goal ... I found it remarkably UNinspirational ... so I decided to take this photo instead.

Perhaps I should have listened better ... because I didn't really remember very well which letterboxes I was supposed to stuff.  Cue Hubby's under breath mutterings ... I'm pretty sure I caught something about lack of initiative and common sense.

He then may have heard some under breath mutterings from me ... about if people are doing favours for you then you can't really complain if they don't do them the way you'd like them done.

Other events over the weekend included this low flying helicopter ... observed during our letter box drop ...

This exploding bottle of coke ... which Hubby carelessly left in the freezer overnight ...

This miniature passionfruit ... not a technical term ... just called that by me due to it's inferior size ... but hey ... we grew it and I ate it so YAY!!

Master 16's very first driving lesson ... provided by me ... because Hubby very conveniently nicked off to cricket training.

My white knuckled grip ... during said driving lesson.

Sunday dawned sunny and bright ... I know this because we were again denied a sleep in by Hubby and his annoying leaflets.

Hubby learnt from his mistakes of the previous day and this time he was taking no chances. The mission was organised with military precision ... I was handed this ...

... and a pep talk on ignoring the "No Junk Mail" requests.  According to him these leaflets are not junk mail ... they are a community service.  I ignored him.

We wrapped up Sunday ... with another driving lesson ... this time provided by Hubby.

I sat in the back seat and was told to remain silent ... something I find incredibly hard to do when my life is flashing before my eyes.  I jest ...  Master 16 did remarkably well and is improving in leaps and bounds ... we only ran up the gutter once today!

I finished the day ... by the fire ... with a time wasting game on my iPad and some crappy TV ...

How was your weekend?

  1. You've done well . . . on nearly all counts! Not the following instruction one though obviously :-)

We had an extremely quiet one - but not as quiet as it is today as the two dogs have gone off to the doggie beauty parlour. I spent a little time this morning sitting on both lounges, one after the other, because for once I COULD!! xxx

    1. I never was one that followed instruction very well ... something to do with the way my eyes glaze over and the elevator music starts playing in my head.
